The "X" Drill with Target Elements™

Target Elements™ - Born on the range.

Get proper training before attempting this drill. The safe execution of this or any other drill is dependent on the shooter as well as the range conditions. Verify and double check safety before firing in ALL cases.

As we often say, once started it is easy to keep ripping a jagged hole in the target paper, and with some practice it is easy to do it quickly. Moving and resighting is a slow process so we encourage shooters to work it. Place Elements on the torso and brain vital areas as well as on the four corner of the paper silhouette target. Shoot the "X" as laid out by the outer corner placement of the Elements. Everyone has a preferred direction in which to move, this might help uncover yours. If not, we will when you train at ManAloneTactical.

Load mags with two rounds each, starting with the top left corner shoot two rounds right through the intersection of lines in the Element. Reload and shoot the bottom right two rounds. Reload and move to the top right, then the bottom left. Finish off with torso two and head two.

Work these combinations, each starting at a different corner.

There are other combinations, (and you can devise and shoot them) but these work the target transitioning skills. This is a 48 round skill drill additionally including 24 load/reload sequences and 24 sight pictures. A drill should work many skills, certainly not just shooting accuracy, and this one does.
